Do you go nuts over the Myrtle Beach’s local burger joint River City Cafe? An eclectic restaurant where it’s perfectly normal to see peanuts thrown on the floor and license plates hanging on the wall, with a unique menu to match. Then you’ll love our hiptastic cantina – Nacho Hippo! Another local’s favorite, our sister restaurant – not quite mexican, not quite tex-mex –  serves up ‘Best of the Beach’ Margaritas and Nachos in a fiesta-style atmosphere.

Both restaurants offer a unique menu of food for those that crave nacho-typical flavor combinations. While River City offers crazy burger toppings such as Cheetos, Doritos, marinara sauce, peanut butter, and popcorn shrimp, Nacho Hippo isn’t shy about piling on ‘out of the ordinary’ toppings on their nachos and tacos. Some of their unique tacos include the Mrs. Daisy – Fried green tomatoes, mixed green, pimento cheese, spicy mayo and slivered red peppers, and the Kamikaze – Seared tuna, mixed greens, seaweed salad, and wasabi cucumber aioli. Fried chicken in a taco – yep, they’ve got it!

Not only are the recipes unique, but each restaurant have a ‘Bigger is Better’ mentality and serve some of the biggest burgers and nachos in Myrtle Beach! At River City Cafe we have the infamous OMG Burger which consists of two patties topped with hickory smoked bacon, Swiss and cheddar, lots of mayo, lettuce, tomato, and fried onion strings, stuffed between two fried egg and cheese sandwiches and is served with a pile of fries, two giant fried onion rings, and slaw. The Kitchen Sink Burger is similar but with the addition of jalapenos, Texas chili, grilled cheese instead of egg and cheese sandwiches and grilled onions instead of fried onion strings. Talk about ‘Instagram-Worthy’ Burgers! Over at Nacho Hippo, their colossal plate of nachos are best enjoyed with friends. The Hipponachomus starts with a layer of queso and cheese blend before being piled high with layers of chili, taco beef, shredded chicken, jalapenos, lettuce and fresh pico de gallo. And the nacho chips are even made in house!

Another thing we have in common with Nacho Hippo is you don’t necessarily need a knife and fork to enjoy our award winning cuisine. All you need is your hands to pick up a burger and to chow down on nachos and tacos. And yes – all of the above are quite messy and may require napkins – most likely more than one. We’re both honored to have won a few awards and to be known for serving ‘Best of the Beach’ Burger and ‘Best of the Beach’ Margaritas and Nachos.

So if you’re in the mood for nachos or tacos instead of a burger, be sure to try out our sister restaurant Nacho Hippo. They have two locations, one in North Myrtle Beach across from Barefoot Landing and one in Myrtle Beach in The Market Common.
